DESCRIPTION:Every Monday and Friday throughout August there will be something going on in the shop. We’ve everything from storytelling\, author visits and creative writing\, to Pokémon swaps\, origami and afternoons that focus on fascinating facts – for all those non-fiction lovers!\n \nFriday 4th August AM – Anthony Burt author of Animal Lighthouse.  A morning or fun activities with Anthony based on his book Animal Lighthouse.  Brought up by a wonderful group of animals on a hidden island somewhere deep in the Caribbean\, Jim knows no other life or who his real parents are.  He washed up on te island as a baby in a barrel of rum\, and has been helping run its special lighthouse with the animals ever since.  But now\, trouble is brewing!! \nMonday 7th August PM – Pokémon Trading.  Bring your doubles and swap them for ones you are yet to collect.  Talk Pokémon with new friends \nFriday 11th August AM – Dragons big an small – Stories about Dragons.  Do you like Dragons? Come along to our dragon themed morning and find out how to train or even grow one!! \nMonday 14th August PM – Story time – We read a selection of our favourite story books from Supertato to The Very Hungry Caterpillar. \nFriday 18th August AM – Let’s get creative\, A morning of learning new skills from origami to writing your own story. \nMonday 21st August PM – Have you ever wondered about? An afternoon discovering the world of non-fiction books.  Trains\, space\, Greeks\, take your pick! \nJust drop in – no booking required. \n  \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Come and join us on Saturday 5th August for Indie Publisher Day\, 11am – 3pm! \nKenilworth Books is set to celebrate the success of local authors and independent publishers during a special one-day event. \nWe will will hold our ‘Indie Publisher Day’ on Saturday\, August 5th from 11am to 3pm\, and will host a selection of writers from in and around the area who have all been supported by independent publishers to make their mark in the book industry. \nThe event will be showcasing local author\, Natasha Solomon’s new book Fair Rosaline\, an exciting\, subversive and powerful untelling of Romeo and Juliet\, from Bonnier books! Other authors and publishers in the line up include Pauline Crame and her novel Song in the Key of Madeleine\, which centres around the emerging relationship between two individuals from very different social and cultural backgrounds\, published by The Book Guild. For poetry lovers\, Chris Burleigh’s Poetry book Intersecting Lines from Beercott Books explores the familiar from fresh new perspectives and Simon\, publisher of Beercott Books will be there with a selection of their new titles. \nRobin Leach will be at the event in the morning with his popular Kenilworth History books from Rookfield Publications and local history writers Graham Gould and Peter James will be joining us with their newly published history book! \nWe love indie publishers and writers and enjoy having a day to remind us how great they can be! \nWith book signings happening throughout the event\, there will also be children’s activities from colouring to a Fletcher Story Trail from the lovely Fletcher and the Seasons books by local author Julia Rawlinson and indie publisher Graffeg. \nPop in and join us 11am-3pm\, we would love to see you there!
