As things go from bad to worse\, Jackie has to decide how many chances you give someone who keeps letting you down.\n\nBittersweet and funny\, Home Bird draws on Fran Hill’s own experiences as a teenager in foster care. \nFran Hill is a full-time author and retired English teacher from Warwickshire who was in foster care as a child. Her first novel Cuckoo in the Nest was runner-up for the Paul Torday Memorial Prize in 2024. Her memoir Miss\, What Does Incomprehensible Mean? was published in 2020. Fran lives with her gardener husband and has three grown-up children and two grandchildren.
