SUMMARY:SATURDAY SIGNING – Meet Peter Raposo
DESCRIPTION:Come and meet author Peter Raposo! \nPeter was born in London but raised in Portugal from the age of 2 up until 19. Afterwards he moved back to England. He wrote his first story at the age of 6. When he’s not writing or reading\, you’re more likely to find him playing videogames – he has a YouTube channel called That Boring Dude – or patrolling his city and taking photographs of the world around him using his cheap mobile phone. His first novel ‘dUst’ is classic dystopian science fiction. Since then he has written and published a few more books including ‘This is Not the End’ and ‘The Illusion of Movement’. \nDUst Synopsis  \nThere are no books –\nthe machines don’t allow us to have them anymore… \nAfter the Great War comes to an end the human race starts living side by side with the machines. But some humans have secrets\, as do some machines\, and sooner or later they will clash\, resulting in the last war ever. But before that happens\, the greatest detective of the New World must solve one last case while an asexual sky poet tries to warn the world of the dangers of giving too much freedom to the machines. And the Thin Dust is still in the air\, slowly killing the human race but not the machines. \ndUst is about a dystopian future that might one day arrive without any of us noticing.

SUMMARY:SATURDAY SIGNING – Meet Author Jenny Wren-Patrick
DESCRIPTION:Come and meet author Jenny Wren-Patrick\, who will be signing copies of her book\, Mending Broken Lives. \nAfter suffering years of anxiety and abuse\, Jenny Wren-Patrick was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. And while learning about her condition helped to explain a lot of her confusion and mood swings\, her consultant psychiatrist advised her to take another step forward and start to write down her life’s story. \nMending Broken Lives is the result\, and for Jenny\, writing it has unlocked many memories both good and bad\, helping her to deal with the things she had buried deep down. She has received counseling at various times but still maintains that writing it all down has been the most help\, and hopefully it will help others too—whether you are another soul with bipolar disorder\, a professional studying bipolar disorder\, or someone who has a friend or relative with this disorder. \nWith the right support and understanding\, there is light at the end of this long black tunnel.

SUMMARY:SATURDAY SIGNING – Meet Author Julie Ann Tyso
DESCRIPTION:Come and meet author Julie Ann Tyso\, who will be signing copies of her book\, Answers from the Other Side. \nWhat happens to us when we die? Does heaven really exist? If so\, what does the afterlife look like? Although death happens to everyone eventually\, we know little about the process and the only way that we can get answers is to talk to someone who is already there. Through channelled mediumship communication with a spirit called Battrick\, this book attempts to answer some of those questions. The spirit world wants us to know that the essence of who we are does not die with our physical body. We are all spiritual beings having an earthly experience and the energy that is ‘us’ cannot be destroyed; this life is not all there is.

SUMMARY:SATURDAY SIGNING – Meet Author Ania Bas
DESCRIPTION:Come and meet author Ania Bas\, who will be signing copies of her debut novel\, Odd Hours. \nAnia Bas is an artist and writer. She grew up in Poland and moved to the UK in 2004 to pursue a career in the arts. She has worked with Tate\, Whitechapel Gallery and others as an artist and arts organiser. She began writing ‘Odd Hours’ on the Faber Academy ‘Writing a Novel’ course. \nMeet Gosia. She’s a sensitive soul with a filthy mind and problems with intimacy. Between shifts in a well-lit budget supermarket and nights in a badly lit Zone 3 flatshare\, she spends hours inside her own head. That is\, until a chance encounter snaps her out of her reverie. Propelled into a series of mediocre jobs\, lousy dates and even worse sex\, the prickly yet warm-hearted Gosia begins her excavation of the ‘perfect’ life so many dream of. After all\, could there be more to it than she imagined? Raw\, funny\, mean and moving\, Odd Hours is a razor-sharp social comedy about human connection\, unexpected happiness\, and the many forms of love.

SUMMARY:Summer Story Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Whether you are already a storyteller or have always wanted to have a go\, the summer holidays are the perfect time to get writing. \nWe are offering you inspiration and guidance as well as a prize or two\, so now is the time to pick up a pen or fire up the computer. \nKenilworth is a famous setting for stories\, so you might like to set your story here too. It will run throughout the summer to the last day of the summer holidays. \nWe also recommend two books of folk tales that will give you a strong sense of setting and character: Scottish Fairy Tales\, Myths and Legends by Mairi Kidd and African & Caribbean Folktales\, Myths and Legends by Wendy Shearer. And you can find more tips and practical guidance from The Usborne Creative Writing Book and The Usborne Write Your Own Story Book. \nOur favourite stories will be displayed at Kenilworth Books and one storyteller from each age category (4-7\, 8-11 and 12+) will win a £10 book token.
