We’ve been working with Coventry University Library over the last few months as they planned their project to fund a copy of The Lost Words by Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane, for every Primary School across Coventry and Warwickshire. All primary schools in Coventry will already have received a letter by email from Coventry University before they broke up, sent through Coventry’s School Library Services. In September, when the schools return, all 280 primary schools will receive a copy of The Lost Words with a resource pack alongside it.
We will be co-ordinating the distribution of the books from our little bookshop. We have the opportunity to offer all schools extra copies of the book, and sets of postcards ideal for class use too, both at a special schools price. If your school has not already told us of extra copies required, you can call us on 01925855784 or email us at info@kenilworthbooks.co.uk, send us a message over Facebook or Twitter or just pop in. If you didn’t see the University’s email and would like to know more, just drop us a note and we’d be happy to forward you all the details.
We’re very much looking forward to seeing copies of this glorious book in all our primary schools – and we also have plans to work with ‘Storywalks’ creator, Chris Jelley, to do a local trail focused on The Lost Words as part of the Kenilworth Arts Festival. An exciting autumn ahead!
