The events programme at Kenilworth Books is always buzzing with exciting mix of literary happenings – from book group gatherings, to book launches, children’s book signings and, well… basically bookish parties! We’re always keen to bring different events into the bookshop so if you think you have an event that might work; we’d love to hear from you.
The shop is small; seated it holds a maximum of 30 – with a little standing room. A more informal gathering can host up to 50, more on a nice day when we can spill outside too. For events outside of normal shop hours we don’t charge for our space, but do ask the organiser to confirm a minimum expected attendance of 20 people in order to cover our costs.
We provide the space and staff free of charge in exchange for selling books at the event. For book launches, we usually order stock via our standard wholesaler but we are happy for the organiser/publisher to supply books direct, by arrangement.
We are happy to promote your event to our regular customers on our social media and in our newsletter, on posters on the noticeboard in the bookshop, and in Talisman Square.
We will always offer to serve light refreshments (soft drinks and nibbles). If you’d like also to bring wine or bubbles, or bring celebration cake for your event, that’s fine – just pop in and chat about it. We have plenty of glasses/plates/napkins to hand!
Most of our events run Monday-Thursday. Events usually run 6pm/6.30pm to 8pm (or sometimes 5.30pm onwards for children’s book events); but we are happy to discuss alternative days and times if these don’t suit.
