Fran Hill is a full-time author and retired English teacher from Warwickshire who was in foster care as a child. Her first novel Cuckoo in the Nest was runner-up for the Paul Torday Memorial Prize in 2024. Her memoir Miss, What Does Incomprehensible Mean? was published in 2020. Fran lives with her gardener husband and has three grown-up children and two grandchildren.
