Shipston Bookfest 21st – 29th September 2024

Shipston’s first ever book festival, launched by local volunteers to bring the local community together to celebrate and cultivate the love of books.

The sparkling programme includes a variety of nationally recognised authors and incredible local talent. Between the 21st and 29th September, there will be literary and book-themed events in the town, author visits to the primary and high school, and family events – all culminating in a spectacular final weekend!

Some highlights not to be missed:

  • Adele Parks, Sunday Times multi-million copy bestselling author, talking about her latest novel, First Wife’s Shadow
  • Sue Law, with the Shipston Amateur Dramatics Society dramatizing her book, Dark Side of the Cut
  • Angela Dandy, author of The Silveries, hosting a special literary lunch at the marvelous Bower House and releasing her most recent title, The Silver Lining at the event for us
  • PJ Ellis talking about his debut romantic comedy, Love and Other Scams which is funny, clever, and bang on trend
  • Prue Leithdiscussing the ups and downs of her career, recent TV roles and new cookery book, Life’s Too Short to Stuff a Mushroom
  • And, for budding writers, a creative workshop on how to get published with Sophie Flynn, author and Managing Director of Jericho Writers
